Dr. Amin Momin is a seasoned bioinformatics scientist with a robust background in drug discovery, preclinical research, and the development of data pipeline architecture. Dr. Momin is currently the Principal Bioinformatics Scientist at Biomea Fusion Inc., where he provides pivotal support to project teams through bioinformatics study design and data analysis with an emphasis on transcriptomics, proteomics, and image analysis.
Amin’s prior experience includes impactful roles at Vir Biotechnology, PACT Pharma, AbbVie, and MD Anderson Cancer Center. In these capacities, he spearheaded various projects focusing on neo-epitope prediction, identification of cell surface targets for therapeutic intervention, elucidation of mechanisms of action in disease processes, and the discovery of therapeutic biomarkers. Additionally, Amin has been instrumental in developing data processing pipelines and web apps to bolster both research initiatives and clinical studies while adhering to software development best practices.
Holding a Ph.D. in Biology and an MS in Bioinformatics from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA—coupled with a BPharm from the Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai, India—Dr. Momin’s educational background is extensive and well-rounded within his field. He is further enhancing his expertise by pursuing a Certificate in Software Engineering and Quality from UC Santa Cruz Silicon Valley Extension.
In personal pursuits outside the laboratory environment, Dr. Momin enjoys engaging with nature through cycling and other outdoor activities.
